Q: Where do you find the time and energy to do all this? Any tips on when to get creative and still balance the rest of life's needs (school, work, love, kids, etc.)? (Question courtesy of Michelle M.)
A: Well, life is a bit slow these days readers! As I mentioned in my little 'About Me' spiel, I'm currently a masters student pursuing a career in the allied health field. Luckily, by saving, the help of some family, and my husband's student loans, I don't have to work so I can focus on my studies. I say I don't have to, but I actually would like to to be able to have some spending cash around Sydney. We're here on a student visa though and can not have full time work, not even part time. It has to be under 20 a week, so we get by with the rare casual job I find here or there. The next couple months I'll be nannying a couple days a week, and who knows what I'll find after that.

Honestly, if you could balance school, a relationship, a full time job, and the hundreds of other things life throws at you ALONG WITH all this craftiness I'd say you were either a superhero or on speed. I'm lucky to have all this free time to get my creativity on, but it won't last forever. Life will get busier after I graduate and I may have to focus more posts about outfits or beauty (since I'll have to leave the house and deal with humans).

As far as tips go, even in my lackadaisical life I set a schedule for my creative time with me. Don't feel the pressure to be creative just because, make sure it's time spent because it helps you deal positively with the rest of life (makes it easier to justify). Also, being creative doesn't have to be all Mod Podge and glitter, you are being creative every time you get dressed, or cook a meal, or take a photo of your family. All these are things many of us already do on auto-pilot, but they're also things that you could add some flair to in your own creative, intentional way. Thanks for asking, Michelle!
Got any other questions? Shoot them to me (projectvillerose@gmail.com) and I’ll post them if appropriate. Thanks!

  1. I love all your creative ideas and projects, but one has to wonder..do you just find spare time in between work to do them, or do you just have a really flexible work schedule? When do you find is the best time of day to get crafting(and dedicating several hours to it)? I have a hard time balancing school, work, friends, my bf, family, and crafting. I often feel I don't have the time or energy to fully explore myself creatively. Just curious on your imput! Look forward to more posts :)
