About

Welcome to Projectville, a style blog inspiring folks to be more creative with wardrobe, DIY, decor projects, beauty, and art.

My name is Rose and I’m a 27-year-old masters student who moved from Portland, Oregon to Sydney, Australia with my husband to study at the beginning of 2011. Since then we’ve been busy studying and getting to know our new home. Though life is hectic I’ve always found an outlet for my creative streak. I’ve been doing DIY projects, up-cycling furniture, sewing, I started an Etsy shop where I sell my artwork (here), I’ve joined crafting groups, and I’ve been trying to be as clever as possible with my wardrobe since we’re on a tight student budget.
Now, I’ve decided to document it all. I will be posting my outfits and some beauty tips the days I actually have to get dressed up (2-4 times a week) to track my evolving style and challenge myself with a limited wardrobe. I will also post my creative projects (sewing, DIY, recipes, etc.). My hope is that my blog will inspire you to be more creative, and will let my family feel a little more in-touch with me on the other side of the world (I grew up in Minnesota, USA).

So, welcome! Let me know what you think. If you have ideas for posts or topics you’d like me to explore please share them with me, or if you would like to sponsor my quest, shoot me an email: projectvillerose@gmail.com
Thanks for stopping and check back for something new each day!

  1. HI! Hun, just visiting for the first time. I like it very much. I will visit often ofcourse to see how you are doing with your creativity. My only suggestion at this point would be, for you to some how incorporate music, in particularly yours.

    1. The short answer is: hell yes I miss Oregon! The longer answer is that we don't have immediate plans for going back and no finish line in sight. The goal for now is to fully try out Australia and give it a chance before making any big decisions. But yes, oh boy, I miss home. It definitely helps to have a visit planned for February.

Glad to hear you have a finish line in sight and are excited to make it back. Thanks for stopping by! Keep tuning in.

  4. Hi there Rose,

I've been a follower of our blog for a little while now and just wanted to stop by and say how much I enjoy your blog :) I love your DIY's because I like to try be fashionable on a budget as well.

I'm from New Zealand - just across the ditch. If you ever get the chance while you are still in Australia you should definitely have a holiday here - Queenstown is AMAZING!

    Love your work :)

    1. Hi Erin, thanks! We're definitely going to make it over the ditch at some point. Real jobs and money are needed first :) Ha! Soon though, soon.

      Thanks for watching!
